What is Send It Academy and is it worth the cost?

Have you heard about the viral side hustle that’s all over TikTok? Send It Academy, also known as Paid Per Letter, is a company that teaches you how to get paid to write letters for $5 each. Let’s delve into all the details about Send It Academy, answer any questions, and discuss alternatives to this course so you can discern if the purchase is worth it to you!

Note: I am NOT affiliated with this company.

Who Are You Writing Letters To?

You are writing letters to gaming websites and casinos. These casinos are legally required to provide an alternate method of entry to play their games. In their sweepstakes rules, they state how to write these letters.

This is completely legal and has been around for decades.

If you follow the directions exactly, the casino will credit your account with sweeps coins. Most will give you $3-$5 in coins for every correct letter. They get to write this off on their taxes so they’re not actually losing any money.

It can take several weeks for them to credit your account with the sweeps coins. Send It Academy states “6-8 weeks”.

Send It Academy just teaches you how to do this. You are NOT writing letters to them.

How Do I Get Paid?

To get paid, you have to “play through” the sweeps coins by gambling with their games. Once you have played through them and reached the casino’s required threshold, you can then cash out.

What Are The Costs?

Send It Academy’s Paid Per Letter course is $225, which includes your first month’s membership to their letter-writing group. It’s $25 per month after that.

You will also have to upfront the costs of supplies for writing all these letters. That includes stamps, envelopes, index cards, and pens.

If you are writing 20 letters a day/ 5 days a week until you get those first credits, that totals more than $600.

What Is In Send It Academy’s Course?

As of 9/11/2024, according to their video, the Send It Academy letter-writing course has nine lessons that total 30 minutes.

They teach you how to write the letters, give you templates for some casinos, and check your template to make sure it’s correct before you start sending out hundreds of letters. They also teach how to “convert” to retain most of your coins so you don’t lose it all, which is supposedly the most valuable part of the course. And they have stamp giveaways in the membership group.

They state to have 24/7 support and updates whenever the casinos change their terms and conditions.

They also state that yes, the information in their Paid Per Letter course can be found elsewhere for free. I have personally seen some of their affiliates say not to even bother searching for the information because you won’t find it.

Why Am I Just Now Hearing About This?

To put it simply, because they turned it into an MLM. If you are an active member of Send It Academy, you can pay $20 to become an affiliate and make $100 every time someone signs up under you. That’s quite a bit for one sign-up. And extra from your downline!

There’s a downside to sharing, though. With such an influx of new writers, the waiting time for processing letters has become weeks longer for everyone, with credits to accounts becoming smaller amounts at a time. It seems they’re having a hard time keeping up.

Would people be sharing about this so much if they weren’t an affiliate? Maybe a bit with people they knew, but I highly doubt to this extent. If you have a large social media following, you may want to join to be an affiliate. I don’t blame you! If I could make $100 from one sign-up I’d be sharing too if I knew it helped people!

So why didn’t I join?

I found all the information I needed for free and I’d rather be transparent and share that with you than make money.

Alternatives to Send It Academy

First of all, you don’t need to join or buy anything other than supplies to do this! All of these gaming websites and casinos have the rules and instructions posted on their websites.

I found a couple of Facebook groups with thousands of other writers. They both sell discounted stamps, will help with templates, and answer any questions you might have, and the best part is you’ll learn from others how to convert those coins for more money in your pocket!
