DIY Pacifier Clip Teether With Knots

Someone in my family is soon to be due with a baby boy! Her baby shower was just the other day and I really love giving homemade gifts so I decided to make her a few things for the baby. This DIY pacifier clip teether is great because I made it out of flannel and the knots are really thick to soothe those sore gums! Follow along for a quick and easy shower gift or for your own fussy teething baby! It would still be a pretty fast project even if you hand-sewed it!

Supplies:

Strip of flannel (I cut mine out from an old shirt)

Pacifier/suspender clips

5 inch long piece of elastic ( I just used braided)

Sewing machine or hand sewing supplies

I forgot to write down how long my strip was, but I know it was shorter than 14 inches and could only fit 3 knots. If you want the clip longer with more knots then make your strip longer. The width was 4 inches.

Fold the strip in half longways and pin.

Sew the long side and ONE end closed 1/2 inch from the edge. I didn’t sew the one end closed yet. I did that later, but it’s easier if you do it here. Leave the other end open so you can turn it right side out.

Turn it right side out. You can do this by using a straw or something similar to push the sewn end into itself until it’s the right way out.

Tie knots starting at least 2.5 inches from the sewn end.

Keep going until you have about the same amount left on each end.

Fold the edge of the unsewn end into itself and place both elastic ends in the middle about 1/2 inch.

Sew over that a few times, making sure the elastic isn’t going anywhere.

Loop the other end through the front of the pacifier clip and sew the end down there.

All done!

Here it is being modeled by my 4-year-old. My toddler would have been a more suitable model for this since he still uses a pacifier when Daddy gives him a nap. But he was sleeping when I took this and I couldn’t get the pacifier for the pic either because he was using it!

Here it is with the other three handmade gifts.

I made the bandana bib with this tutorial.

And the denim shoes with this one.

I just winged the other pacifier clip.

Is this quick DIY pacifier clip teether on your list to make for the next baby shower you attend?

If you make one share a pic on Instagram and tag me @little_mager_house

I’d love to see your creations!
